The human nervous system is essentially the brain and peripheral nerves plus the autonomic nervous system and adrenal glands.
At the Specialist Medical Clinic we are able to assess the majority of patients within the out-patient setting. A typical neurological examination usually includes an assessment of a patient’s cognitive function, testing of the cranial nerves, plus assessment of motor function and strength, sensation, reflexes, coordination, and gait.
In some instances our team may chose to request additional supplementary diagnostic tests including computed axial tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, or ultrasound imaging of major blood vessels of the head and neck. Neurophysiology studies including electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and evoked potentials.
The most common conditions treated by our team include:
- Neuropathy & Neuromuscular diseases
