The Specialist Medical Clinic is extremely pleased to have been able to help Gibraltar local charity Action4Schools bring clean water to around 800 pupils at Peace Village School in Tonkolili District in Sierra Leone (Salone).

Our support has funded the digging of the charity’s 80th well which will mean that since 2013 many local companies and individuals have made it possible for over 35,000 school children and adults to be provided with clean water in the districts around Freetown and other urban areas in Salone.

Our CEO Dr David Deardon has seen first hand the need for clean water and the benefits it brings having travelled to Salone with Action4Schools founder Jimmy Bruzon in 2012 as part of a Gibraltarian team who took part on the first ever official charity marathon in the country. The event raised funds to support the disaffected street children who had lost parents, were separated from their families or used as child soldiers during Sierra Leone’s  awful civil war.
