Specialist in Rheumatology covering a range of acute and chronic rheumatological diseases – Inflammatory arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis and related conditions, Connective tissue syndromes (SLE, PM/DM etc.) Vasculitis (including Polymyalgia Rheumatica, Giant Cell Arteritis), Fibromyalgia and Osteoporosis.
Skilled in all common and complex intra-articular aspirations and injections- knees, ankles, small joints of hands. Soft tissue injections such as bursa injections, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel injections and suprascapular nerve block. Organise and supervise Infusions and injections for biologic DMARDs and treatment for osteoporosis.

Experience

I am the Clinical Lead for Rheumatology in the Dept. of Rheumatology, Nobles Hospital, Isle of Man. I have set up a comprehensive rheumatology service – outpatients as well as an Infusion service for patients.
I attend all the major rheumatology scientific meetings & conferences annually for CME/CPD.
I was previously on the editorial board of Rheumatology (Oxford Journals) and have Peer reviewed articles/publications. I have published articles and abstracts.
I am engaged in regular annual appraisals and am revalidated with a License to Practice by the GMC (UK).
I participate in Audits, Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs), have set up protocols & pathways for rheumatology services and treatments as well as governance structures for patient safety.
